U.S. Virgin Islands
The United States Virgin Islands (USVI) is mainly composed of islands such as: St. Thomas, St. Croix, and St. John. Waste Management in the USVI is overlooked by the VI Waste Management Authority, which was established as an autonomous Government Corporation. The VIWMA is led by a Board of Directors and comprises two operations divisions: Solid Waste and Wastewater. In order for the local community to be involved in waste management planning in all member islands, the Authority has created a Citizens Advisory Committee.
The VIWMA has active members in the SWANA Caribbean Chapter.
